Center: Knife is a working prototype with a very deep hook and hand cut
serrations. Bottom: A production pattern.
This tool was originally named the
JMTK, Jump Masters Tactical KnifeTM,
and later changed to JMEK, and finally the JAMEKTM
or Jump Masters Emergency KnifeTM.
A limited number of second production prototypes knives were made
with a left handed configuration. Later production models had a
redesigned handle on them that was AMBIDEXTROUS. I
hand carried some of the original production JMEK knives to Fort Benning,
and handed them out to Jump Masters at the Jump School. Three were
given to instructors at the School of the Americas out in the woods for
those who know. One was given to a fireman in Siloam Springs,
Arkansas to test.
