INFORMATION REGARDING BACK ORDERS & MISSED SHIPMENTS

ALSO CHECK OUT THIS PAGE FOR SOME CURRENT UPDATES, ETC.

I have taken a lot of flak over back orders and missed shipments. The large majority of it I will accept and take responsibility for my actions. There are a numerous rumors and other assorted stories still circulating on the net about me and my knives. Some or legitimate while some or just out and out made up tales to bold face lies. There are people posting that they have backorders with us who do not have any orders with us.  I will not get into that now as I do not have the time nor desire to drag any of this into the public showcase,   I am also not going to go into my financial problems and production problem either because most of it is no ones business other than my own.   I will however make my valued customers this one promise.

“All I can say is if you have an order with me, and it is PAID for then I will get your product out to you as quick as I possibly can.  This is the best I can do. ...  PERIOD."

I have gone from producing a few hundred knives per week down to a couple of dozen or less. I have filled most of my back orders, but I still have some PAID orders that have not filled. Most of these PAID orders are for larger 1095 steel machetes.  I also have some custom D2 tool steel bowies, and custom knives that have to be made or heat treated.  Basically I am not taking NEW ORDERS per say.  However as I manufacture new product I make a few extras as I go, and anything that you see on line and/or on my pages is an over run and is for sale.  I am trying to fill as many back orders as I can, but I am again a one man shop.  I am trying to produce a better product and at the same time keep my head above water.  I have shipped thousands of knives, and other products that I manufacture to customer world wide, and  I have not raised my prices since 1995 in most cases.   For the over whelming mass of customers who have stood by me, and let me work this out I send my undying appreciation.  For the few who do not know anything about what is going on, and in many cases do not even have an orders with me, but enjoy digging at scabs, and stirring a pot of shit!  You can continue ranting on some blade or knife forum, you had better have your facts right because running your narcissistic mouth will come back to bite you in the ass.   I will not turn the other cheek anymore, but for now I will let your actions and rants go to a point.  Basically the majority of these people are just small petty people with an agenda.   For all those people who say they can not contact me, your liars.   You can find somewhere to run your friggin mouth.

Below you will find a letter that I am still sending out to most e-mail accounts that ask for a knife, etc.  I would appreciate it if you would  please read it. Therefore if you have a PAID order, I would ask you to please send me an e-mail with your FULL name, corrected mailing address, a phone number, and a short description of your order. I will file it with your order and use this information to ship the final product. The reason I ask for this information is that I have shipped two orders out to customers that have come back as no such person at this address, no forwarding address, etc,.  Therefore, any current information would be appreciated.

FYI  BACKORDERS?   I am filling a number of back order, and not taking new custom orders, but do have new items coming out of our production over run every week. Please contact a distributor or click on a link.

HERE IS A BRIEF e-NOTE THAT IS AND HAS BEEN SENT OUT VIA E-MAIL INQUIRES CONCERNING BACK ORDERS:

QUOTE:

"I am in the process of filling back order every day.  As I make product to fill these back-orders, I also make other items.  For an example!  If I have a Company Knife on back-order, I do not just make one knife to fill that order, I will make extra knives at that time; it is easier.  I also have dug out everything that has been made up extra over the last few years, any prototypes or other assorted items, and put them up for sale. I have re activated my ORIGINAL TRIPOD WEB SITE, that has been on line for over fifteen years This site was never taken down, but had not been updated. I have revised the site slightly, and given it a new look, with some updated material.  There is a new site going on line at www.newtlivesayknives.com FYI.

If you have a knife on back order let me know, and I will try to find the order.  If not as I finish product, and fill back orders I will send or publish extra items as they come available. Thanks for the inquiry, and if I can be of further assistance or if additional information is required, please advise.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

 Newt

NOTE:  Please remember to send me an e-mail with your FULL name, you correct and current shipping address, a phone number that I can contact you at, a working e-mail please,  and a short description of your order.

WARNING - FAKE LIVESAY KNIVES

I guess it is supposed to be some kind of honor or prestigious point in a maker's career when someone copies his product design(s). I have had a number of items, and knives or designs ripped off over the years, and manufactured under different names by other makers or in some cases so called reputable manufactures. The quality of some of these copied knives is questionable. When my WOO design first hit the market and we were churning out 500 a week, and still were backordered, a stainless steel rip off version came out of Pakistan. They were nice looking, stainless steel, and even had my name stamped on the blade. The only thing is they were not heat-treated, and the quality was less than that of a Tuna fish can lid.  I did not make them, and once I tracked down the importer who lived out of state I made a personnel visit to his location, and informed him how the cow eats the cabbage.  I took all of the knives from his warehouse (not paying him a dime) and destroyed them at our factory in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Rule of thumb:  If you buy something, just because it “looks like” a Livesay does not mean it meets my standards. I could care less about some of these rip-offs that do not have my name stamped on them because the people who are familiar with my products know that I make a quality knives that will hold up when needed. I have always said, “That if your life depends on it, my knives will not fail you when called upon.”   One other example is makers like Bob Loveless whose drop point hunter design is one of the most copied knives on earth.  Hell I even have made a drop point hunters that look a heck of a lot like a Bob Loveless, but I did not put his name on them.  Many people do use put Mr. Loveless' name on worthless pieces of crap and try to pass it off as his "Naked Ladies" model.  Bob Loveless is one of many famous makers being ripped off everyday both here and overseas by unscrupulous unimaginative "ass-holes."

Therefore, here is the rub. I got an email, and later a knife from a customer, collector, and a newfound friend recently. The customer lives in Florida and like unusual Livesay Knives such as prototypes, and one of a kind customs, etc. Seems he purchased a quote “Prototype” Livesay knife from a dealer at a Gun & Knife Show for $600.00. Contacting me, he was happy about his find and wanted me to give him some background on the knife. I asked him to send me the knife, he did. IT WAS A FAKE. It had my name, etc. stamped on the blade, and an original bolt on knife clip made by me attached to the sheath. It looked damn good; the knife clip that is. This sheath clip was the only thing that was made by me. I sell extra clips for a couple of dollars and have sold over the years a few hundred to customers who want to have an additional clip if theirs breaks? My customer said he would take the knife back to the dealer and demand his money back. I should have kept the knife, but I knew the man would not get his money back if he did not have a knife to return.

All right, this brings us to another more pressing and up to date problem with FAKE LIVESAY KNIVES. Two other customer, and friends, one being a retired U.S. Army Ranger/Scout/Sniper recently brought to my attention the fact that a dealer in Oklahoma is selling knives with my name on them. The knives are all neck knives and the customer said that they overall are of poor quality. They are housed in KYDEX sheaths, and one even had my name, and logo stamped into the KYDEX sheath belt clip. Both customers have told me that the seller said he knew me personally, and that we were good friends.  He also stated that may name was not Newt but was Newton, and that I lived about one hundred miles from my present home in Arkansas. He said I just tell everyone I live in Arkansas.

So here is the point. I know there are a number of people who collect my knives for one reason or the other, and will  never use them. I have seen some of the prices that are paid for my earlier knives on e-Bay, and other sites.  I am truly humbled by the generosity and favor heaped upon my work by many users and collectors.  I have been offered some good money if I would make some older styles and stamp them with “old dates of manufacture.”   Well I have done a hell of a lot of things in my life, and for damn sure I could use the money, but I have not nor will I ever compromise dates, and or my name for vanity. I collected different makers and company knives for a number of years, and would have been madder that a stomped rattler if someone had pawned off some fakes on me.

I would like to advise, and warn anyone who might be looking for any of my older knives to use or collect to be warned. If for any reason when you find a knife that is stamped one of a kind or prototype, and supposedly manufactured by me; ASK QUESTIONS.

Ask the seller for some identification, a phone number, an address, etc. Ask if you can return the knife if it is not a real Livesay manufactured knife. Hell if I am spending five or six hundred dollars for anyone's knife from someone I do not know I want to see the seller’s driver license or some form of legal identification. That just makes sense to me. First off, I am sure that anyone who is selling a genuine Livesay prototype, etc., will be more than happy to give you their name, and some form of contact information. One thief we have heard of in Oklahoma is selling FAKE Livesay knives, and will not give out his name  or any identification; I would not deal with him.

If you suspect anyone selling a knife with my name on it and if you consider it too be a FAKE, please contact me.  I will personally give take care of the problem.  I might even be quite generous with some genuine Livesay gifts.

Thank you for your time, and consideration.
