How to Fit or Size Your Livesay Walking Canes

If the cane you order is too tall I would suggest you cut it down to fit your height for a much better walking experience. This is the way to ‘fit’ a cane to your height. This is how I suggest you ‘fit’ your Livesay Custom Cane.

1. First it is best, and a lot easier to have a second person help you ‘fit’ your Livesay Cane to your personnel needs.

2. It takes two people to "fit" a cane properly. Wearing your normal walking or hiking shoes you should stand straight or at attention. Let your arms hang at your sides with a normal bend of the elbow.

3. If the cane has a rubber tip on it, remove it by twisting the tip off. A squirt of WD-40 works well in removing tight tips and set it aside for now.

4. The second person who is helping should place the Cane on next to the “user’s” side with the handle (curved area - top) on the ground. Using a pencil or other type of marker make a light mark on the cane shaft where the crease on the “user’s” wrist touches the cane shaft.

5. With the shaft marked lay it on a work bench or table and make another mark no less than one (1) inch above or towards the end of the shaft (towards the tip) of the cane. This is the mark you use to cut or saw the shaft into.

6. Put the rubber tip back on the shaft and let the user who is going to be using the cane check it for comfort and fit. If it is still two long cut or remove one-quarter (¼) of an inch at a time until the can fit’s the users stand. [note: Be careful to not make the cane too short]
