A brief history of Livesay Anti-Corrosion Lubricant & Protection –

Over the last 20 years I have worked on developing a dry film lubricant to combat wear, and corrosion on carbon steel weapon systems. I wanted an inexpensive dry film that would protect my high carbon tool steel knives, pistols, rifles, or any other metal items from corrosion. I also wanted something that would lubricating and cutting down on wear. After testing numerous combinations I have now come up with what I think is the best anti-corrosion dry lubricants on the market today. It is perfect for the care and maintenance of your survival gear, knives, firearms and other metal items. Anyone who has ever used my knives know I have always made no BS, hard core users for professional military and law-enforcement personnel. Just as I have always said, you can bet your life on my knives. Well my new dry film lubricant has been developed with the same idea in mind. I want you to be able to depend on my dry film lubricants and protectorant for reliability and performance of your weapons.

Look moisture drawing dirt just will not stick to your weapon systems if it has been lubricated with my dry film metal surface protectorant. It repels moisture, thus your expensive rifles, pistols, knives and other gear will not corrode. It is as simple as that.

Protect your Investment in your Knives & Firearms–

More and more less expensive knife blades are now coated with spray paint. It is an inexpensive way to make a knife look exotic or in most cases the maker is trying to give the knife a TACTICAL look. A more expensive method is to hot blue a knife just as a manufacture hot blues a rifle. The military for over a hundred years have asked for most combat weapon systems to be parkarized. Now newer plastic and alloyed aluminum weapon systems are normally painted.  Most custom makers do not have the expertise or experience to accomplish this process. Commercial manufactures find it to expensive, thus the painted blades. Painted, and blued blades do some to protect a high carbon blade or firearm from rust or corrosion. Parkarizing is best but it also is subject to corrosion.

Livesay Anti-Corrosion Weapon Lubricant & Protection, can be successfully applied on bare metal or over a painted, blued or parkarized finish for maximum protection. It can be applied to damp metal surfaces for maximum protection. When applied to a surface that already has a tightly adhering rust problem LACWLP will go to work to stop the corrosion.

Livesay Anti-Corrosion Weapon Lubricant & Protection, will not readily wash off, it is a non-petroleum base product that will not harm plastics, paints, or synthetic rubber used on most scopes, and other sighting systems.

Livesay Anti-Corrosion Weapon Lubricant & Protection, provided long term protection for all metals and tack-free lubricant for moving parts.

Livesay Anti-Corrosion Weapon Lubricant & Protection, stops existing corrosion on contact, and will penetrate and help free up heavily seized or corroded parts.

CHECK OUT THIS RUNNING TEST ON A SECTION OF 1095 CARBON STEEL IN FRESH & SALT WATER

FULL SUBMERGENCE  –  Two (2) strips of 1095 carbon steel fully submerged in water.

GROUND SURFACES WITH PROTECTION, on test strip "A" which is fully submerged in fresh water.  Test strip "B" is fully submerged in concentrated salt water.

1-29-10 1254 hours  – 16 HOURS FULL SUBMERGENCE

1-29-10 1254 hours  – 16 HOURS FULL SUBMERGENCE   Black tint to unprotected surface of steel (R), protected surfaces (L) show no signs of corrosion.

TEST STRIPS  –  Two (2) strips of 1095 carbon steel.

LEFT:  GROUND SURFACES WITH PROTECTION, Test strip "A" is submerged in fresh water.

RIGHT: GROUND SURFACES NO PROTECTION, Test strip "B" is fully submerged in concentrated salt water.

NOTE: Bottom of strip has been ground, there is however some small dark spots that are the original surface scale of the steel.  The top of each strip is the original scale.   Bottom half of both strips have been ground just like the front.  Note corrosive effects that have begun on both sticks.  Strip "B"  (SALT WATER) shows a surface that has been attached with a little more of aggressiveness.

1-30-10 1655 hours  – 44 HOURS FULL SUBMERGENCE  Reddish orange corrosion on unprotected surfaces (L), No signs of corrosion on protected surfaces (L)

TEST STRIPS  –  Two (2) strips of 1095 carbon steel.

LEFT:  GROUND SURFACES WITH PROTECTION Test strip "A" is submerged in fresh water.

<< 138 HOURS OF FULL SUBMERGENCE >>

2-3-10 1130 hours  –  138 HOURS FULL SUBMERGENCE

<<<< (L) LOOK  No signs of corrosion on protected surfaces. How ever there is a slight blackening on the surface of test strip "B" where after 138 hours of full salt water submergence.  You can see the blackening on the right side of the strip.  Also note the SALT crystals growing on the strip just above the ground surface where the strip sits in the salt solution.

(R) >>>> Reddish DARK orange corrosion on unprotected surfaces.  Note the very dark stains that are slowly becoming a rusted surface.  SALT crystals can also be seen at the water level on this strip of metal also.
