The images above are of two different PILOT SURVIVAL KNIVES made by NEWT LIVESAY at the Water Street Shop and later the Raines Street Shop.  The "Coral Linen Micarta Handled" model is the rarer of the two, IF IT HAS THE NICKEL SILVER double guard on it.  The darker handled "Brazilian Rosewood Handled" model has a Yellow Brass double guard on it.  As far as I can remember I never put a nickel silver guard on a Rosewood handled Pilot Survival knife. These knives came with KYDEX sheath that was made for hanging upside down on a flight vest or on the belt.

This original Livesay Pilot Survival knife with the nickel silver double guard was made on contract.  There was a few made and sold to the public in 1993, 1994. (Less than ten to the best of my memory)  I did not keep a good record of sales with this knife for some reason.  Most of the contract knives and the civilian knives will be stamped 93, 94, or 95 referring to the year it was made.   The civilian model that I made the most of was the darker handled Pilot Survival with the "Brazilian Rosewood Handles"   This knife had a Yellow Brass double guard on it, there was less than twenty of these knives ever made. .

Both of these knives sold for $150.00 each when made. I raised the price of the Burgundy Linen Micarta handles knives to $175.00 when I started selling them to the public.  This Coral colored Micarta used on these knives was manufactured in the early 1950s.  Rare color

I apologize for the mis-information on the color of the early model knives.  I had listed it as Burgundy, when it should read CORAL.

I recently sold an original Coral handled Pilot Survival stamped 95 for $550.00 to a collector.  He also purchased an original
Pilot Survival knife with Brazilian Rosewood handles dated 95.

This knife has been discontinued, and is no longer a production knife.

“When anticipated hostilities are a clear and present danger such as the drug wars in the Americans, or the war on terrorism against fanatical elements the use of non-traditional military activities should be the legal authority for covert actions. To posit our firm resolve in advance by covert action should be coin of the realm. “
