I began making neck knives in 1989 with the first neck knives being custom miniatures; they are marked with Phoenix, Arizona logos.  The first true production neck knife I made was the Standard Operation Procedure, aka; S.O.P.   This knife sold for $20.00, and the price is still the same today with only one small change in the knife, and that is a blade-edge indicator notch that also serves as a locking notch inside the neck sheath.  January 28th, 1991 was the beginning of the  Model 142 WOO knife. The following two photograph below are off eBay, and represent one of the very earliest Newt Livesay WOO neck knife.  This is an original hand made WOO neck knife from Newt Livesay's shop in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.  These knives were cut from a twenty foot long stick of 1095, hand profiled, and then finished. Top of knife was rounded, no finger grip, no eyelets in sheath.  FIRST SERIES WOO. This knife sold for $25.00. Over 15,000 WOO knives have been sold world wide.
